After 12 years of teaching music in classrooms and privately, helping children prepare for grade exams, I noticed something was missing. My students were achieving great things, but they often played alone or with me—an adult in a room—rather than experiencing the joy of playing with other kids who shared their love for music. I wanted them to feel what it’s like to be part of something bigger, to connect with others who shared the same passion, and to feel the excitement and inspiration that comes from making music together.

Music has a unique power to bring people together, regardless of background, allowing everyone to share beautiful emotions. When we say that music is a universal language, it’s because music connects with feelings, allowing anyone to understand and feel the music, even without knowing lyrics or context. Melodies and harmonies speak to us in a magical way, expressing emotions we can all feel. I wanted my students to experience this wonder—to understand that music can communicate feelings across all boundaries and to be part of a community that connects through these emotions.
